2 Year Pictures of a Sweet Little Boy | Champlin Child Portrait Photographer

This photo shoot gave me quite the work out!  So much so that my legs hurt for a few days after.  This is a sign that a) 2 year old boys never stop and if you are trying to capture them for birthday party invite photos, you better be able to keep up! and b) I really need to start working out again. :)

On my way to Doris A. Kemp Park in Champlin, the weather did not look promising.  In fact, it was raining on the way and still raining when I got there a few minutes early to meet my clients.  I met a family standing under a pavilion (taking family pictures of their own) taking shelter from the gray skies and rain also hoping it would soon end.  They decided to wing it and go out into the rain to take their photos. 

I had called my husband saying you might expect me home a little early since it was raining, but luckily for me, within minutes of that family leaving...the skies opened up leading to a beautiful sunset shining rays of gorgeous golden light over the park.  I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful setting for this evening photo shoot and a more precious little boy to spend an hour with.

I had the great pleasure of taking pictures of this beautiful little 6 month old baby a few weeks ago.  I knew right away that her parents would be FUN to work with because as soon as I got out of my car to meet them I heard "Are you prepared to see the cutest baby in the world?  You may hurt your eyes."

And as her daddy pulled back the blanket cover from her car seat carrier...she didn't disappoint.  She is a CUTIE and very much adored by her parents. :)

A 40th Wedding Anniversary Surprise Party | Minneapolis Small Event and Portrait Photographer

Capturing images from this surprise anniversary party is exactly why I love doing what I do.

Anne had planned this event for her parents several months in advance of their actual December Anniversary in hopes that some of the out-of-town guests could make it without being hindered by winter weather.  She also had the food catered and even had a cleaning company come and spend 8 hours cleaning their home the day before (this I overheard while snapping photos around the house).

She did a fabulous job of adding so many extra special touches like the "Bill and Connie" M&M's, printed note cards from pictures of their wedding day for guests to fill out, and balloons writing out 40 on a big poster board above the wine and sangria table (seriously...where can I get me one of those?!?)

I felt completely honored being a part of this day documenting such a huge milestone for such a great couple and their beautiful family.

Twin Baby Boys | Minneapolis Natural Light Child and Family Portrait Photographer

Double the pleasure, double the fun!  Twin boys!

You would probably never guess by looking at them now, but these big, healthy boys were born 3 months premature.  I'll never forget seeing pictures of them in their little incubators at the hospital after their mom posted them on Facebook and getting updates as the boys grew and got stronger each and every day.  What the medical community can do now is amazing!

The parents of these beautiful boys have been through SO much, long before these babies were born.  I won't get into details, but let me tell you that these little boys truly are little miracles.  And just by spending an hour with their parents, you know that they've got nothin' but love for them, and adore them to the core.
